How to Measure Ring Size with Tape Measure

Ready for a favorite, but wondering, “How do I find my ring size?” Finding your ring size without visiting a jeweler is not as complex as you imagine. While you can absolutely enter a mall jeweler to be sized, it’s not necessary. Finding out your ring size is more than easy to do at home with these four daily items:

# A piece of paper

# Scissors

# A tape measure or ruler

# Pen or pencil

Here’s what you do:

Step 1: wrap the measuring tape (or string) around the base of the finger in question.

Step 2: Use the pen to make a small mark on the string or tape indicating where they overlap.

Step 3:  Flatten out the thin strip of paper or the tape measure and measure how many inches from the mark you just made to the end of the paper or the tapeline you used.

Step 4: Match that measurement with the corresponding ring sizes, below.

Things to Remember:

# The average women’s ring size is 7.

# The average men’s ring size is 10.

# We recommend sizing your finger at the end of your day. That’s when your finger is most likely to be at its largest size, ensuring that you don’t accidentally order a ring that is too small.

# If your knuckle is much bigger than the base of your finger, measure both areas and find a size in between.

# If we only offer whole sizes, we recommend sizing up if you’re between sizes.

# Do know that our rings won’t shrink, but adjustable rings may stretch slightly over time, especially if you snap your ring or remove it often.
